Gabriel Medina stars on Day 2 of Supersurf in Brazil
Excellent conditions with 4-6 ft (1.5–2.0 m) waves were on offer today for the ASP World 6-Star SuperSurf Internacional event held at Praia do Santinho on the second day of competition in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Gabriel Medina (BRA), 16, posted the day’s highlights and is now the new record holder on the SuperSurf 2010. Medina's impressive performance today was a prime example of the new wave surfing as he detonated a variety of critical maneuvers including massive tail-free turns and power gouges to set the day's highest single-wave score of a 9.50 en route to the day's highest heat total of 18.43 while taking out his Round of 96 surfers heat victory.
